Malaysia is a fabulous destination, so much history, a must see for any travel enthusiast. Set at the base of St. Paul’s Hill, the Melaka Sultanate Palace is a wooden replica of Sultan Mansur Shah’s 15th-century palace. It was painstakingly constructed in 1985 using traditional construction techniques and materials, based on accounts in the 16th century, Sejarah Melayu (Malay Annals) text. According to the annals, Sultan Mansur Shah’s seven-tiered palace was built entirely without nails and supported with carved, wooden pillars and featured a copper and zinc roof.

Officially called the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, this stunning example of 19th century Chinese architecture stands out for its distinctive blue walls and elaborate grandeur. One of Penang’s most beloved heritage sites, the mansion has been a key monument in strengthening the status of heritage building preservation all over the state, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for having one of the prettiest imitation villages outside of France, Bukit Tinggi is also known for Colmar Tropicale Resort, where visitors can experience a fairytale right here in Malaysia’s highlands, strolling through the extensive gardens or simply relaxing in one of its many restaurants in the beautiful town square. With the cool weather and beautiful architecture, this place is great for a weekend sight seeing trip full of peace and relaxation.

Another best place in Malaysia to fulfill your dream of exploring a tropical rainforest is Gunung Mulu National Park. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, GMNP is situated in Borneo and is home to 3500 species of vascular plants and exceptional 109 species of palm. What catches the eye in the national park are the 295 kms stretch of caves that reflect a geological history of more than 1.5 million years. The Sarawak Chamber, which is 600 m by 415 m and 80 m high, is the largest known cave chamber in the world and is housed in Gunung Mulu National Park. Aside this, canyons, wild rivers, rainforest-covered mountains, and limestone pinnacles all add to the mesmerizing beauty of this must see national park in Malaysia.

Along with the Petronas Twin Towers, Menara Kuala Lumpur is easily Malaysia’s most recognizable and popular landmark. Constructed in 1994, the tower stands at 421 metres and effortlessly trumps the Petronas Twin Towers with the highest and most spectacular view of the city. This gleaming tower’s spindle-like apex is visible from almost anywhere in Kuala Lumpur. Menara KL’s viewing deck is, at 276 metres, at least 100 metres higher than the Petronas Twin Towers’ Skybridge; the view is marvellous during the day and even better at night when you can see the entire sparkling city centre. Kinabatangan River is the second longest river in Malaysia, stretching nearly 550 km (350 miles) from the mountains to Sulu Sea. Located in Sabah state on Borneo, the Kinabatangan River is known for its diverse wildlife and vegetation. It’s a good place to see Asian elephants, crocodiles, proboscis monkeys and Bornean orangutans – it’s one of two places in the world to find 10 species of primates, as well as 200 bird species. It’s known, too, for rain- and limestone forests, and salt and freshwater swamps.
