Sports Injuries: The intensity, repetitiveness and frequency of sport can leave patients vulnerable to injury. We have wide range of knowledge on most sporting injury presentations. Prompt intervention is key. Advice can be invaluable to prevent a delay on recovery or on relevant investigation we deem necessary. In order to prevent reoccurrence all parameters of fitness need to be addresses mainly flexibility, strength, balance, endurance and propulsion. Our physios endeavour to retrain all these aspects. Common injuries that present include: Joint impingements, groin injury, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, ankle sprain, knee ligament/meniscal injury, dead leg/haematoma and tendon injury.

What people say? Having got of my horse and walking like a 90 year old, it took the physio 1 session to find the problem, after listening and checking out my hip joint , they contact my GP and a specialist to have me sorted and waking/sitting and moving without the limp and crunching and creaking They know there stuff, gentle physio whilst I waited for treatment and post operative care was superb, can’t recommend them enough , very courteous and great listeners.

Pilates: Pilates is a form of exercise focusing on balance, strength, posture and flexibility. It is suitable for people of all ages and abilities when taught by a trained practitioner. At Leyland Physiotherapy we incorporate Pilates extensively to rehabilitate core strength and prevent further injury especially in back pain patients. Exercise rehabilitation: Every patient is provided with a tailored exercise programme aimed at alleviating pain, restoring normal strength and endurance and therefore hopefully preventing a reoccurrence of injury. We have light weight resistance, balance equipment and mobility aids on site to help in the teaching process. See extra info at Physio Leyland.

Quite simply the best treatment you could ask for. As I have got older my body creaks from having a good time when I was younger and Michelle always has a smile when you arrive, listens to your symptoms then goes to work to help. I broke my ankle in 2018 and struggled for a few months on the NHS rehab programme. I went along to Michelle who freed up the movement quickly.

Leyland Physiotherapy was originally started by Mrs Jenny Wood back in 1982. Because of the hard work she put in, and the great success she had with patients, the practice quickly grew and expanded into being one of the most trusted Physiotherapy providers in Lancashire. Our physiotherapy centre is located not far from Junction 28 of the M6 motorway. We have off street parking for those visiting us by car. Regular bus services operate via the B5256 Leyland Way – we are just a short walk from the nearest stop. Find extra details on https://www.leylandphysio.co.uk/.
