Port Canaveral parking advices

Amelia Whitehart 0

Whether your driving or flying to your departure destination, you should definitely consider a pre-cruise hotel stay near the port. Not only will you automatically extend your vacation, but you’ll also reap the benefits of a less-stressful commute to the terminal on your sail date. You won’t have to worry about missing your cruise due to a flight delay or traffic. Plus, If you’re already traveling all that way to get there, why wouldn’t you want to take the opportunity to explore. Just tack on a few days before your cruise to sightsee or visit attractions.

While the major ports farther south – especially Miami – get most of the headlines, don’t be fooled. Port Canaveral, located about 45 minutes east of Orlando, is among the busiest departure ports in America. Depending on the year, it is either second or third in number of passengers, battling with Port Everglades for the distinction. More details on Port Canaveral parking.

If you follow the advice above you’ll be doing some research to discover the charms of your ship’s homeport, but on the drive to your cruise you’ll have more time to get on your tablet (unless you’re the driver) and learn about each port on your trip. Assign tasks to each of your fellow passengers to find something they want to see, do or taste in each port or on the ship, and ask them to find at least one thing another member of your group will like as well. You can even assign someone the task of finding some music to get you in the vacation mood. And when you’re driving back, the trip presents the perfect opportunity to decompress, re-enter the real world and share your favorite part of the cruise.

I always recommend that cruise passengers arrive at least a day in advance. The risk of flight delays is always a risk, and arriving early can definitely help mitigate that risk. You’ll have lots of options when choosing where to stay that night. Some guests choose to go to Walt Disney World first, while others prefer to stay near the Orlando International Airport (where they can get transportation to the port in the morning).
